Payroll & HR Coordinator

Meet Sandra! One of the newest members of CoolIT. As a member of our Human Resources team, Sandra has a lot on her plate, utilizing her expertise to oversee payroll for the entire organization, while administering employee benefits and chipping in with general HR support to employees. Sandra sees CoolIT as a fast-paced and fun environment, where she gets to meet new people, and have a good time doing it. When Sandra originally saw the posting for the CoolIT position, she mentioned it to her partner, who was excited about it as he is an avid gamer. He had great things to say about the desktop cooling systems and this conversation piqued Sandra’s interest about the cooling industry!

Sandra has an extensive educational background. She first started at U of C and received her Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in English and minor in Sociology and Religious Studies. Sandra then went to SAIT for Accounting while simultaneously working towards her Payroll Compliance Practitioner designation! Sandra is a life-long learner and has continued to extend her education by now working towards her Certified Payroll Manager designation.

Sandra started her career path at an Agricultural firm which played well into her roots as she grew up on a farm just outside of Fernie, BC. At this company she was an Office Manager and then progressed on to an Accounts Payable and Payroll position. She also has experience working at a non-profit, steel manufacturing company and most recently at land service company. Sandra’s experience in payroll extends for over ten years.

In her spare time, Sandra loves reading! She has quite an extensive book collection and she has been told she has too many books – to which Sandra responds “There is no such thing. Just need more bookshelves.” One of Sandra’s favorite things to eat is Sushi. She went to Vegas for a weekend trip and ate at the sushi restaurant Nobu, and this is where Sandra recommends the best sushi dinner and experience is!
