Liquid Cooling R&D

Exploring the future of liquid cooling.

Researching Liquid Coolings Future

CoolIT’s advanced technology group is focused on identifying, understanding and evaluating how new technologies can be adopted into our ecosystem of products.

Most critically this also involves validating new technologies for mass market adoption, understanding the real-world constraints required to meet the scale of demand for liquid cooling.

System Architecture

CoolIT actively investigates how materials and components are brought together to deliver optimal performance and reliability.

By taking a system-level view, CoolIT identifies opportunities to modularize designs and ensure component interoperability.

CoolIT is also developing smarter features that enhance server-side performance and enable deeper integration with data center control systems.

Materials & Coolants

CoolIT is continually investigating new coolants and materials that increase thermal performance.

These studies include material compatibility, lifecycle and reliability testing.

New coolants are investigated for their chemical properties as well as system performance.

Alternative Cooling Technologies

In addition to advancing single-phase liquid cooling as the industry standard, CoolIT continues to explore other technologies.

CoolIT’s advanced technology group are actively reseraching immersion, two-phase, microfluidics, direct-to-die and other alternative technologies.

By understanding these technologies, CoolIT positions itself to bring these technologies into mainstream use.
