The Opportunity

CoolIT Systems, Inc. is hiring a full time Test Engineer to support the Test Engineering team. The primary responsibility of this role is to write and execute test plans for assigned projects from concept thru mass production.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with the test department and project teams to remove any roadblocks and to optimize project delivery for all testing
  • Facilitate corporate initiatives on product and component testing
  • Develop and implement test plans that will ensure compliance to internal or customer defined standards
  • Engage with internal departments and key stakeholders to improve processes and ensure predictable delivery of testing
  • Engage with external test laboratories to schedule, quote and perform external testing when needed.
  • Understand hardware requirements and design documents to develop comprehensive test strategies, procedures and plans that ensure product reliability to the system requirements
  • Prepare formal documentation plans and reports
  • When required, conduct hardware testing, debugging prototype hardware, investigation of design defects and testing of design changes.
  • Perform detailed product testing at the system and component levels
  • Work continuously to improve verification test processes
  • Must form an educated opinion and defend that position while collaborating with development teams to meet project objectives
  • Interface with various suppliers, service providers or vendors along with industry partners to ensure product reliability

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated experience in testing and qualifying electro-mechanical and mechanical parts and systems
  • Solid experience in setting up and using DAQ’s, sensors, actuators
  • Knowledge of programming tools such as LabView, Python, C, etc.
  • Knowledge of FMEA and statistical methodologies
  • Demonstrated experience in working with external testing facilities and possesses the require skill to manage and communicate with them effectively
  • Working and demonstrated knowledge of test procedures that involve MTBF, MTTF, lifecycle calculations for electro-mechanical parts and systems.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills and work habits
  • Proficiency with MS Office programs and computer skills
  • A positive can-do attitude and accountable to quality and timeliness
  • Mentoring of staff on test procedures, test development and best practices for product
