Longer tube on domino ALC 5 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
I have the domino alc cooler and im wondering if its possible to put longer tubes on the cpu block as to be able to mount it on the ouside of the case, i have an antec 900 and its kind of cramped in, i got as much air blowing through the rad as i can (mounted a 80mm fan to the inside of the lcd display and have a tube from the front intake fan right to the cooler)
i know the tubes are 1/4 inch, is it possible to maybe remove those tubes and put new ones in? what size barb fittings are on the cpu block and the pump/rad??

has anyone tried to take the tubes off a domino??

any insite would be helpful

Hiya Pirate - Yes, you can lengthen your tubes but you must add a reservoir to the loop after taking it apart...otherwise you will never get the system filled properly again. I use a Boreas and have done this twice before. Here is a link to the fittings you will need for your res. : www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.ph...mp;products_id=26763

Here is a res...you don't need much: www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.ph...mp;products_id=24649

ahh thank you, will the domino accept anything bigger then a 1/4 inch barb fitting? or would it be pointless to get bigger tubes?? from what ive found the water block and rad are pretty good on this unit but ive yet to hear anyone sing the praises to 1/4 inch tubes, is this the main difference between this cheap drop in water unit and a full sized loop that can run several times the cost??

Hey pirate

Rick is actually wrong this time. Sorry bud.

I wouldnt recommend any mods to the Domino. The few people that Ive seen mod a Domino have broke it. The tubes do not like to come off without ruining the barbs on the RAD.

I have taken 1 apart myself and would have to say that even if your extremely careful and know what your doing the chances of ruining it are very high.

Ill never say it CANT be done, but I dont recommend it. The barbs on the rad are built into it. They are not removable unless you snap em off.

In order to replace em you would need to fab a way to get the new barbs onto the Rad. It would just be easier to buy a new 120 Rad.

And no, that link was for some barbs for the res that would match the tubing used for the Domino.
