OK... well I don't feel like removing the FHE's all the way... (Had I done this painting woulda been a HELL of a lot easier. I woulda just got them anodized!!!) I have buttloads of Ceramique but I don't want the pressure of reseating them. If I have lots of troubles I will contact one of you gearheads to do it for me. Lets see what my temps are like first I guess.

And regarding the torque screwdriver... Anyone feel compelled to let me rent theirs? I'm an honest boy and can proved a deposit in the ammount of the driver i suppose. I really don't feel like wasting my money on something like that when I have other costs building right now... (Must buy new triple channel mem!!!)

If anyone is interested in this PM me and let me know. We can come up with some sort of monetary value to renting it for a week.

Brad

Hi Brad

Well…in short

No...not w/o a few delays at least

That is a pre-set model – i.e. it has a factory setting of 5 lbs for example. You cannot adjust it.

Unless the person that was selling it on ebay knew from the get go that it was factory set to 10lbs…or has a calibrating tool (which I doubt) and can calibrate it for you to 10lbs…it is not going to work. Even then…the tool will only be good for one use…(your FHE’s). The calibrating tool is a few thousand dollars.

The screwdriver you bought may have a pre-set setting of only a few hundred ounces. If this is the case, you will barley torque on the screwdriver & it will spin…i.e. it will be a very ineffective standard screwdriver as well.

Wish I had better news for you

You could always send it back to Utica to have them recalibrate it (unless the person that was selling it sealed the allen key in the bottom of the screwdriver to access the calibrating capabilities (& be able ot take it apart for service) - EVERY PART is replaceable...so this is a tool you will have your entire lifetime...it is very important that the bottom is not sealed when you get your driver.

Sorry... I guess I don't quite understand...

Prada... let me first say that I received your messages... But I do not think that you know that I am actually in the UK!! I am in London. I don't think you want to be sending off your driver to me out here!

Anyway... this is the ebay auction to the actual item I won.
cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&a...;_trksid=p2761.l1259
It says it is good for 8 - 40 in/pounds. I thought that meant it was adjustable. Also in the post above you mention the one with the gold collar is adjustable so I thought that is what that meant on this item.

I just want to do it right, but I don't have the funds to be buying expensive drivers that I will only use once... or in this case... 24 times for 24 screws.

Can you tell me the exact model number I should be looking for?

Regards,
Brad

well then...UK aye...got ya...

I would contact the seller before he/she ships. i am worried that the person referenced utica's site & did not review the ad. it states that it can be "left or right hand calibrated on request" - if they can do that...they can def calibrate the driver for 10lbs. if they can not do that...you def have a way out of the autcion.

Like i had said before the driver w/ the gold colar is the adjustable model (Utica TS-30 orTS-35) the one you purchased is set for a fixed value @ the factory/by Utica direct sales/authorized tool distributer.

here is one

hope that helps
