TOPIC: where are temps taken

where are temps taken 5 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
On the Boreas setup where are the coolant temps taken at? I am only asking because on my MTEC control center window my coolant tamps are reading higher than my CP temps. I have used several programs to verify the CPU tamps and every program shows the same temps that the MTEC control center shows which are good. The CPU runs below ambient at 20% load and less but the coolant temp always shows just above ambient temp.

Liqiud - I would assume that it reads off the sensor attached to one of the TEC blocks...

rickss69,

Yes you are correct. The MTEC Control Center reads the coolant temperature in your Boreas loop from the temperature sensor touching one of the Boreas TEC FHEs.

OK well i put Dynamat on all four blocks on the Boreas to see if it helps. It also covered the temp sensor that is on one of the blocks but even after 30 minutes of running the coolant temp is sitting at 22.5c and the CPU temp right now is at 20c with the Boreas running at 100%

I covered all four blocks on the Boreas yesterday when i got home from work with Dynamat and after running last night the best CPU temp i got was still 11c BUT my coolant temp is 18.4c which is 2c cooler than it has been. I am also seeing temps on the CPU right nw as i type dip to 13c which is better than before so i am seeing some improvement now. I am still not sure why my coolant temps are showing so high. when i touch my reservoir on the back of my case it is cold to the touch and feels colder than what the control center is saying but i can be sure till i take some readings this weekend.
