Thanks CoolIT for the awesome cooling!! 6 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
Well this was my first attempt at watercooling and on Tuesday itll all be done with when i go get my 30" Samsung!!! So i thought id post a thread and some pics and extend a big thank-you to all my buds down the street at CoolIT for all the help and support theyve given me. Sorry about all those questions im just a perfectionist and like to know all the angles. So heres what happened...
Started off with one freezone then upgraded to a boreas. Then added Apogee xt and Koolance pump/rez combo. Then someone offered to buy my psu and two GTX 280s so I then upgraded to 1300w Tagan and AMD 5970. Now that i was past the point of no return i figured mine as well go big or go home so i watercooled the gpu. Then just for the fun of overkill and also the good barebones price I added the Freezone for the 5970. And thats it. Guess all thats left is a SDD drive but I still cant see it being worth it. Ah well we'll see. Oh also Ive got some of that Armaflex insulating foam on the way to foam up all my 18 tecs. Id be curious to see how much that helps.

Looks great Job well done!

But what are your temps and how low can you get the coolant with this setup?

BTW, insulating the blocks sure help alot

I have the very same case, but I'm using 2 FZE's inside it

oh yeah for sure the foam seems to help and i cant wait to get my hands on some and see how low we can go!!
here are the temps... cant believe the gpu idle at 16!!! and load gpu of 25 - 30!! pretty cool considering stock is in the 90's.
this is with ambient 23 and boreas at 70% and freezone at 100%. wonder how much difference Foaming the tecs will make? well ill keep yall posted for sure!
cheers

ps... i caved in and got the Patriot Torqx M28 SDD and wow is it ever amazing! i thought it only sped up boot times but actually it speeds EVERYTHING up. i highly recommend it no question!!!

pps... oh yeah i forgot.. also topped it all off with the Samsung 305T 30". and now my 'puter is finally complete. nothing more i can do. maybe another freezone hahahahahaha...
