Just a reminder on your pumpage.............. 8 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 9
Lets say you come home from work, like today, and you fire up the rig, BSOD about halfway into winders, WTF?????

I try to boot a second time thinking it may be a mems error as I was playing with the sticks this AM, this time no post......shieeeeeeetttt!

Check pump which had been working for over three years, it is frozen with just the slightest sqeal when you put your ear to it.....out of nowhere, was working perfectly....luckily, I had another pump laying around from the eliminator and was able to get is all back together.....made double sure to get the air bubbles with a secondary PS running the pump only, fired her up, fingers crossed, hoping the CPU didn't bellyup............

Good to go....temps slightly higher as this is the weaker on my two pumps, as detailed in a previous post.....about 3*c at idle but only 1*c higher full load....

I have no MTEC controller on my rig, so I have to be in the bios or in windows with Everest running to monitor temps....

Guess its time to upgrade the pumpage...

Laterzzzz.....................

Hmm, is there a difference between the pumps????

The pump that failed was from my original Freezone unit (bought it in Japan like 3+ years ago), it looked exactly the same as the Eliminator pump, but the flow/head pressure was more powerful on the original Freezone pump than the newer Eliminator pump when I did some testing a few weeks back.....again, this is something I posted in another thread.....

Anyway, I am assuming that you are using a universal pump, same one for all the different units, yes/no? Once I know I'll let you know on the spare pumpage.............

Thanks...

bldegle2,

Some inner workings of our pump having changed over the years while the pump has pretty much looked the same, so either your second pump is moving slowly because the impellers are not spinning correctly or you have an older model. However, our pump has been the same for the Eliminator, Freezone and, until recently, the Freezone Elite. On our new Freezone Elites, scheduled to arrive in about a week, we are using our newer smaller profile pump. The pump I could get for you is probably the same model as the first pump you have.

cpunut4life,

If you email me directly I will get you a picture of our now older pump. The Pump is a low flow pump running at 3.5 L/min and about 2.2 L/min under load. This pump gives the coolant enough time to become cold over the surface area of the TECs via the TEC FHEs.
