TOPIC: Fan is always maxed out?

Fan is always maxed out? 5 Months ago Karma: 0
I just finished installing a Freezone Elite into my CoolerMaster ATCS 840 a few hours ago and im not sure its working correctly...
When i start up my system, the unit kicks in and starts up, rather loudly, and under no circumstances does it ever seem to decrease the fan speed/rpm...

MTEC shows temps are around 25-30, and when i put the cpu under load, i can see the Tec% increase as well as the fan%.
Thing is tho, i cant hear the slightest bit of difference between 40% and 100%...
Also, when i reboot my pc it says "CPU Fan Error" every time... i must of messed this up somehow..

Its step #5 in the manual i believe, thats getting me...
It says "Connect the pump lead from chiller (3 pin) to CPU fan input on the motherboard. Use side A on MYEC CC if you are using a single chiller. (Figure 19)"

In the picture of figure 19, it shows the connection that has the yellow/red/black wires with the black tape at the end, going into the pump connector on the mtec cc....So what exactly is supposed to plug into the CPU fan input? Im assuming its the connection that has the thinnest wires. The red/black 3 pin connector, right? That connector is a 3 pin tho, and the CPU fan on my mobo is a 4 pin, as was the connection for it on the default intel fan/heatsink...

Feeling kinda dumb right now.. i must be doing something small wrong,, any help would be awesome.

Lemme simplify my question...
For the freezone elite, what exactly is supposed to be plugged in to the CPU Fan header on my motherboard?

I know the Tec and Pump are working, but i still cant get the fan to stop going at 100% ...

Nothing needs to be plugged into your motherboard except the usb header.

Everything plugs into the mtec.

Well then im confused...

In the freezone elite manual, in the section relating to the MTEC, it gives the instructions i posted above...
"Connect the pump lead from chiller (3 pin) to CPU fan input on the motherboard. Use side A on MYEC CC if you are using a single chiller. (Figure 19)"

And like i said, my pc complains every single reboot about a CPU Fan error, and no matter what, the fan on the freezone elite is always at max, regardless of temp or what the mtec is reporting....

Are there any fan related options in the bios i need to adjust off of whatever would be default?

I dont know why that says motherboard. You do not plug it into your mobo. The picture is right as it clearly shows it being plugged into the mtec.

Make sure your USB header is plugged in correct. Pump is plugged into mtec pump lead, fan is plugged into fan 1 lead on mtec and sensor is plugged into sensor lead on mtec and the TEC lead to TEC lead on mtec. All plugged into side A of the mtec.

Im not sure what mobo you have but yes there should be options in your bios related to the CPU fan.

Sketchy_ai,

youeffsee is always right.

Nothing needs to be plugged into the CPU fan header, however there is a three pin fan connector with a red and black wire coming from it, this will make the LED on your faceplate shine blue. You can plug this into your three pin CPU fan header if you would like. As long as you have the three pin fan connector with the black shrink wrap around it plugged into the pump and the three pin with the white shrink wrap around it plugged into the fan, the other two are pretty straight forward, the square four pin is for the TECs and the black three pin is your sensor wire. I agree with your that the installation instructions maybe a little confusing.

Make sure you update your MTEC Control Center firmware to version 2.04 and your software to 1.55. If you are running Vista or Win7 make sure you push your reset button on your MTEC CC twice, the reset button is adjacent from the USB header of your MTEC CC.
